Hexagonal poultry wire netting — SNAKE® Brand, Delhi

Chicken mesh is a light, flexible wire net with six-sided openings, used to enclose birds and keep other animals out. PARSH NATH MANUFACTURERS PVT LTD makes it in Delhi under the SNAKE® Brand, in galvanized iron, galvanized iron drawn wire and stainless steel.

This page helps you decide whether chicken mesh is the right net for your coop, cage or fence, and which size and material to ask for.

What Chicken Mesh Does Well

The wires are twisted together at every joint in a double-twist pattern. If one wire breaks, the rest of the net holds instead of unravelling. The net bends easily, so it can follow a curved run or wrap around a post, and it can be cut with ordinary wire cutters.

It works best as a light enclosure for poultry, a cover for cages and pens, and a general-purpose fence in gardens and farms.

Chicken Mesh or Welded Mesh?

Chicken mesh is lighter and easier to shape, which suits bird cages, small runs and garden fencing. Welded mesh has stiffer, fixed joints and holds a flat panel shape, so it is often the better pick for poultry houses and heavier enclosures. We supply both, so you can compare them on our welded wire mesh page.

Picking a Size for Your Setup

Chicken mesh manufacturers - poultry fencing with hexagonal netting

• 1/2 inch (13 mm): 28G to 20G wire
• 3/4 inch (20 mm): 28G to 22G wire
• 1 inch (25 mm): 25G to 18G wire
• 2 inch (50 mm): 20G to 15G wire

Finer openings keep small birds in and small animals out. Larger openings suit bigger enclosures. A lower gauge number means thicker, stronger wire.

Material Options

Galvanized iron is the everyday choice for poultry fencing and cages, as the zinc coating helps the wire resist rust. GI drawn wire gives a firmer net. Stainless steel is for damp or corrosive conditions where rust must be avoided.

Custom sizes and wire gauges are available on request, and you can ask us about PVC-coated netting too.

Other Uses

Besides poultry, the same net is used for bird cages, tennis court fencing, children’s playgrounds, fish gardens, reinforcement in brick-less cement walls, roofs and floors, and as a cover over pipe and boiler insulation, glass wool and rock wool.
