Woven copper wire cloth — SNAKE® Brand, Delhi

PARSH NATH MANUFACTURERS PVT LTD makes woven copper mesh in-house in Delhi under the SNAKE® Brand. Standard counts from 2 mesh to 145 mesh are normally available from stock for prompt delivery, and other specifications can be woven to order.

Copper mesh is chosen mainly for its electrical conductivity and for decorative work. The sections below explain where each use fits and how copper compares with brass.

What Is Copper Mesh?

Copper mesh, or copper wire cloth, is made by weaving fine copper wire into an even grid. The wire thickness and the spacing between wires decide how open or fine the cloth is. Copper is ductile and malleable, so the cloth can be cut, bent and shaped without cracking.

Why Choose Copper?

Copper conducts electricity and heat very well. It is non-magnetic and non-sparking, resists atmospheric corrosion better than brass, and has natural antimicrobial properties.

Electrical & Thermal Conductivity Non-Magnetic & Non-Sparking Atmospheric Corrosion Resistant Ductile & Malleable 2 to 145 Mesh

Copper or Brass?

Choose copper when conductivity or resistance to atmospheric corrosion matters most. Brass is stronger than copper, so it suits jobs where the cloth must carry more load. If you are weighing the two, read about our brass mesh and, for a rust-free steel option, our stainless steel mesh.

Copper Mesh for Shielding and Grounding

Because copper conducts so well, the mesh is used for EMI and RFI shielding screens, grounding grids and lightning arrestors. It is also used in bio-circuits and relaxation circuits.

Copper Mesh for Decorative Work

Designers and craftspeople use copper cloth for cabinet door grills, lamp shades, display panels, architectural mesh, metal sculptures and other artistic projects. Its warm colour and easy forming make it a favourite for these jobs.

Choosing a Mesh Count

A 2 mesh cloth has an opening of 11.10 mm and a 76.4% open area. At the fine end, a 145 mesh cloth has a 0.119 mm opening made with 0.055 mm wire. Some counts come in more than one wire thickness: for example, 100 mesh is available with 0.114 mm wire and also with a much finer 0.055 mm wire that gives a larger open area. Tell us your use and we will suggest the right combination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which mesh counts are available from stock?

Standard counts from 2 mesh to 145 mesh are normally available from stock for prompt delivery.

What is copper mesh used for?

EMI and RFI shielding, grounding grids and lightning arrestors, and decorative work such as cabinet grills, lamp shades and sculptures.

Is copper stronger than brass?

No. Copper is ductile and malleable but not as strong as brass, though it resists atmospheric corrosion better.

Can you make a custom specification?

Yes, though a substantial minimum order applies for specifications not kept in stock.
